Thanks in advance.

There are thousands of bands covering GD material, probably more GD cover bands than any other you can name. If you search YouTube - put in dead covers project, either 2012 or 2013 - you can get a pretty good idea. I was surprised at the quality of many efforts there. No even mentioning some of the touring acts that do GD stuff - say DSO, Norah Jones, or these guys:

Infamous Stringdusters: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afIPPHs3zMg

or Jesse McReynolds: http://www.jimandjesse.com/resources/TributetoJerryGarciaandRobertHunter.php

Acoustic GD covers of songs by other artists or other artists playing GD originals?

Here's a recent (& very nice) Peggy-O:

and a great Catfish John:

I realize that Catfish John may not be a Grateful Dead "original" but I think most people probably associate the song with the Grateful Dead &/or Jerrry Garcia.

Here's more from Jesse McReynolds. "Songs of the Grateful Dead". Great album.

I don't listen to them much any more, but a while back I really enjoyed The Kind Buds. I see that I even felt moved to write a review on the item page for this show here on the archive.
Try Althea, for example.

Mr Blotto is another really good band that covers GD stuff (usually electric, but sometimes acoustic). There's masses of great stuff of theirs free to download from the archive.
Here's a show with some Dead-related material. I particularly like the mainly-acoustic Big River, on track 6:
